Simplifying Wound Healing – Wound Bed Preparation and Infection Management on the 3rd October 1pm-3pm

This is a virtual training session covering 2 short modules on simplifying the wound healing process using the Assess – Prepare – Treat approach.

The following topics and aims will be met:

1. Assessment and management of wounds

-To enhance knowledge and confidence in being able to holistically assess and treat wounds

2. Understanding and treating Biofilms and Debridement

-To gain insight into what Biofilms are and how these can be managed, allowing wounds to progress past the chronic stages

3. Identifying and treating wound infection effectively

-To understand and identify the different stages of wound infection and how to effectively treat these stages – helping to reduce antimicrobial resistance and high antimicrobial use and increase confidence in  antimicrobial dressing choices!

This session will be delivered by Coloplast wound care specialist Charley Pick, organised and approved by the SNEE ICB Appliance Nurse Team. Please note: this is a clinical training session, the content will only make reference to products generically unless in line with the SNEE ICB wound care formulary.The session is open to all clinical professionals involved in wound care management in Primary Care Settings.
