This training is aimed at anyone working in GP practices across SNEE, that may have to assess someone’s capacity and is involved in making clinical decisions.
Training is in addition to your mandatory Safeguarding and MCA training – it’s an opportunity to refresh your knowledge and skills.
The SNEE safeguarding team have secured regional funding to enable this training, so the principles of MCA become “business as usual” and embedded within everyday practice.
Training will be delivered by Browne Jacobson and the session will include:
-Principles of the Mental Capacity Act
-Covert Medication
-Completing Assessments – Best Interest Decisions
-IMCAs
-COP DOLs – Responsibilities
-Case Studies Primary Care – GPs, Nurses/Relevant case law for Primary care
