Management Masterclasses

This course offers an exploration of the foundational concepts and best practices in appraisals, performance management, and teamwork.

The course is structured into three separate GP Masterclass sessions:

  • Session 1: Principles of Appraisals – This session will introduce participants to the core principles that underpin effective appraisal processes. Attention will be given to the importance of providing constructive feedback, setting measurable objectives, and using appraisals as a tool for professional development and performance enhancement.
  • Session 2: Performance Management – Building on the appraisal framework, this session will explore the principles of performance management. We will examine strategies for conducting effective performance reviews, aligning individual goals with organisational objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through effective feedback and goal-setting. There will be discussions of soft skills, managing difficult conversations and the utilisation of different questioning techniques.
  • Session 3: Principles of Teamwork – The final session will focus on the fundamental principles of teamwork and the dynamics that contribute to successful collaboration. We will cover the development of positive working relationships, the cultivation of a cohesive team culture, and strategies for optimising group performance in diverse organisational contexts.

Upon completion, participants will have gained practical knowledge and actionable strategies to enhance organisational performance through effective appraisal systems, performance management practices, and collaborative team-building techniques.

Participants will be provided with supplementary reading materials and resources to support further learning. Additionally, signposting for future courses will be made available to continue professional development in these key areas.
