This is a comprehensive Lower limb Health course, delivered by Clinical Nurse Specialists in the Industry of compression, in line with The National Wound Care Strategy.

Course Content:
Day 1 – Theory (09:30-16:00)
Day 2 – Practical administering treatments (09:30-16:00)
Day 3 – Reflection and a short examination (09:30-13:00)
The Course consists of:
- Background and History of Lower limb care
- Anatomy & Physiology – Skin, Circulatory system & Lower leg.
- Leg ulcer assessment.
- Aetiology Leg Ulcers: Venous, Arterial, Mixed & others
- Learn the principles and theory of lower limb compression and hosiery.
- Explore techniques to enhance circulation and support.
- In depth management of Leg Ulcers.
- Doppler Assessment – Handheld and Automatic devices.
- Review of Case Studies
- Practical sessions on Bandaging, Compression Wraps, Compression Hosiery & Leg Ulcer hosiery kits, in line with local formulary.
