LARC Training Programme and Ring Pessary

Following the announcement that fitting Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) for non-contraceptive purposes and Ring Pessaries is now covered under a LES for all practices in SNEE (until March 2025 and expected to continue beyond), we are delighted to offer the following training free of charge to practices.

Ring Pessary Fitting: Available for all registered professionals, approximately ½ day training.

LARC Training (IUD and implant): Available for all registers professionals excluding Nursing Associates. Consists of 2 days training for IUD and 1 day for implants in practice, plus e-learning (time dependent on experience and existing knowledge – estimated between 8-30 hours) and an online examination. Limited places are available for registered professionals working in General Practice who are already competent in delivering contraception and sexual health services. Places will be allocated on a first come first service basis and to ensure equity across PCNs. The deadline for EOIs is 30th December 2024, with the first Welcome Webinar on 8th January.
