An NHS England-funded course for GP Assistants employed by the NHS within the East of England. This is a level-4 university course worth 10 credits, and is delivered by Anglia Ruskin University’s (ARU) supportive and experienced tutors.
This programme aims to give you the professional skills and theoretical knowledge that you can take forward into your future practice and career, as well as key projects and relevant academic skills, should you wish to pursue further qualifications.
Course Content:-
After successfully completing the course, you will be able to:
- Apply the concepts of ‘person-centred’ care to general practice, focusing on the promotion of physical and mental health and wellbeing, and signposting patients towards the most effective care and treatment.
- Demonstrate safe and hygienic practices during clinical assessments and sample acquisition. Show awareness of how to create a comfortable and secure environment for patients during these examinations, including obtaining informed consent.
- Evaluate and apply the essential values of professionalism when communicating and consulting with patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the correct procedures for accessing, handling, reporting and sharing patients’ medical information in a sensitive and secure way, adhering to relevant policies and legislation at all times.
