There is an urgent need to increase number of pharmacists working in SNEE including primary care.
- Currently for 2025/2026 there are only 15 foundation year placements confirmed compared to 60 placements in 2024/2025
- HEE funding for 2025/2026 @ £26,500 plus SNEE local additional funding @ £,2500 = £29,000 per placement
- Foundation trainees will need:
- Access (90 hours) to a prescribing environment and a Designated Prescribing Practitioner (non-medical or medical prescriber) for independent prescribing.
- Placement in a community pharmacy or hospital (minimum 13 weeks). We can help to facilitate this.
