Desinated Prescribing Practitioner Training

This free 3-hour session is intended for independent prescribers who are considering becoming a Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP) to support a pharmacist through their prescribing course or have already agreed to act as a DPP.

A DPP is a healthcare professional with independent prescribing rights who supervises a health care professional during their independent prescribing (IP) course and provides ‘sign-off’ on their competency to prescribe.

The role of DPP can be performed by any independent prescriber including doctors, nurses, and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

This course is suitable for new DPPs, or as a refresher for more experienced DPPs. The session aims to cover the essential components of the DPP framework, strategies for supporting struggling learners, and various clinical activities to help trainees achieve the competency framework.

Course Dates:

Thurs 19 September 2024, 2 – 5pm. Attendance is online via Microsoft Teams.
